It takes a single drop of water to start a wave...
Gemma Bulos, Founder of A Single Drop, Composer and Performer of “We Rise”, and Architect of The Million Voice Choir is an avid world traveler, using her talents as a teacher and musician to navigate through different cultures by submersing herself in local traditions by doing volunteer work with children’s villages and orphanages. Through her work as a mentor for at-risk inner city special-ed youth in New York City, as well as a producer and writer of socially conscious One-Woman Shows and interactive educational children’s shows, she has gracefully merged education, activism and art with the healing power of music.
When she founded A Single Drop in early 2004, her mission evolved into raising the awareness of the freshwater issues that are plaguing our planet today. With invitations to perform at many international conferences and gatherings, she was also called upon to share her global message “Water, Music and Unity as a Pathway to Peace and Global Harmony.” She has presented workshops at distinguished conferences such as the 12th Annual Conflict Resolution Conference and Ecology of War and Peace Youth Summit in St Petersburg, Russia, and the Consciousness of Peace Conference to name a few.
On September 21st, 2004, in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace, she mobilized groups and organizations around the world to participate in The Million Voice Choir where over 100 cities in over 80 countries were invited to join in a united moment in song. She has maintained a professional music and recording career performing around the world focusing on building unity through social responsibility, sustainability and environmental consciousness.
